Mentorship & Coaching

This program supports the personal transition that sits underneath successful learning and work, helping young people build confidence, clarity, and direction.

The Challenge

Many young people acquire technical skills through training but still face significant challenges transitioning into employment or entrepreneurship. Beyond technical competence, they often lack confidence, clear direction, positive role models, psychosocial support, and structured guidance during this critical transition from training to work or business.

As a result, many graduates struggle with decision-making, experience reduced motivation after completing training, and find it difficult to initiate or sustain income-generating activities. This leads to missed opportunities and the underutilization of valuable skills, despite their strong technical abilities.

The core challenge is the lack of structured mentorship and psychosocial support to guide youth through this transition period. Without this support, many young people are unable to fully convert their skills into sustainable livelihoods, limiting both their personal growth and their contribution to the economy.

The Solution

To address this gap we provide structured mentorship and coaching that supports young people as they transition into employment or entrepreneurship. Beyond acquiring technical skills, many youth need guidance to navigate real-world challenges, build confidence, and make informed decisions about their futures. Our program ensures continued support through personalized mentorship and regular coaching engagements.

Participants are paired with experienced mentors who offer practical insights, encouragement, and industry or business knowledge. Through ongoing coaching sessions, young people develop essential competencies such as goal setting, decision-making, and self-confidence. We also integrate psychosocial support to help beneficiaries overcome self-doubt, stay motivated, and build resilience as they adapt to workplace and entrepreneurial environments.

In addition, we extend these services to the wider community, supporting individuals to strengthen their local businesses, improve work relationships, and enhance productivity. Through training in soft skills—including entrepreneurship, communication, and life skills—we equip beneficiaries with the tools needed for long-term success. This holistic approach enables participants to confidently apply their skills, create income-generating opportunities, and sustain resilient livelihoods.

Program Model: Skills-to-Livelihoods Model

Our mentorship and coaching model is designed to provide continuous, practical support that reinforces skills application and promotes long-term success among beneficiaries. We regularly invite experienced professionals and positive role models to engage directly with participants through structured talks and interactive sessions. These engagements expose beneficiaries to real-world experiences, inspire confidence, and provide valuable insights into career pathways, entrepreneurship, and personal growth.

To ensure effective application of skills, we conduct routine site visits to beneficiaries in their workplaces or business environments. These visits allow our team to offer personalized guidance, monitor progress, and reinforce best practices introduced during training. Where gaps are identified, we provide timely coaching and tailored advice to help beneficiaries improve performance, strengthen work ethics, and adapt to professional expectations.

In addition, we deliver ongoing entrepreneurship training for beneficiaries engaged in business. These sessions focus on practical areas such as record keeping, marketing, customer service, and business management. By combining exposure to role models, hands-on follow-up, and targeted capacity building, our model ensures that beneficiaries are supported holistically—enabling them to grow sustainable enterprises, improve employability, and build resilient livelihoods.
